Bystander Saves Bedridden Man from Burning Florida Home

When flames tore through a roof on Alderwood Drive in Kissimmee, one person didn't wait for sirens. A bystander rushed into the burning home and pulled a bedridden man to safety before firefighters could arrive.

The fire broke out at a home in the Buena Ventura Lakes community in Osceola County. Neighbors said the bedridden man was asleep when the blaze started, completely unaware of the danger surrounding him.

Video from the scene captured flames ripping through the roof as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. But by that point, the most important rescue had already happened.

A Good Samaritan had already entered the burning structure and carried the man out. Osceola County Fire Rescue confirmed the dramatic rescue, crediting the bystander with saving a life.

"I'm telling you, that's a hero," witness Jimmie Concepcion told reporters. "That's a person that really deserves many blessings from the Lord because he did something that probably a lot of people would not do because of being scared."

The rescued man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not yet released an update on his condition, but neighbors expressed relief that he survived thanks to the stranger's courage.
