Camden County Honors Young Woman with Kindness Day

Camden County is turning an entire day into a movement of kindness, and the reason why will warm your heart.

On July 8th, families, schools, and businesses across the New Jersey community will perform acts of kindness in memory of Samantha "Sammy" Goldsmith, a Cherry Hill native whose warmth touched everyone she met. The Day of Kindness honors the young woman who passed away in 2020 from complications of a traumatic brain injury sustained in a car accident while vacationing in England.

Sammy's family turned their grief into action. After her passing, they partnered with the Brain Injury Association of New York State to create the Samantha Goldsmith Fund, which helps brain injury survivors and their families cover unexpected costs related to surgery, rehabilitation, and recovery.

Since 2022, the fund has assisted numerous families navigating the life-changing impacts of traumatic brain injuries. It continues providing hope and resources to people facing one of the most challenging journeys imaginable.

Participation couldn't be simpler. People can buy coffee for a stranger, leave flowers with an uplifting note, donate to an animal shelter, volunteer at a nonprofit, or pick up litter in their neighborhood. The goal is brightening someone's day and inspiring them to pay kindness forward.
