Cincinnati Hospital Completes $240M Emergency Care Expansion

A brand new medical building in Cincinnati just reached a major milestone that will transform emergency care for thousands of families across Ohio.

Good Samaritan Hospital celebrated the completion of phase one of its Ambulatory Services Building, a 168,000-square-foot facility that brings expanded emergency services, upgraded surgical capabilities, and advanced diagnostic imaging under one roof. The building is the centerpiece of TriHealth's $240 million investment to modernize the hospital for generations to come.

The new five-story structure houses a larger emergency department designed to reduce wait times and improve patient flow. An upgraded surgical institute gives doctors access to the latest technology and techniques. Enhanced diagnostic imaging means faster, more accurate diagnoses when every minute counts.

Project manager Rob Hudepohl from Turner Construction said reaching this milestone required exceptional coordination from every team member and trade partner. The construction had to happen while the hospital continued serving patients without interruption.

The project broke ground in October 2022 as part of a broader transformation that began in 2021. The entire development aims to improve not just medical facilities but also how easily patients and families can navigate the campus and access the care they need.
