Costco and Volunteers Deliver Water to 100+ Stranded Families

When Whispering Pines mobile home community in Lee Township, Michigan, lost all running water Saturday, over 100 families suddenly had no way to cook, clean, or bathe in their own homes.

One resident reached out to Holly Miller, Executive Director of United Way of Midland County, on Sunday morning. Within hours, Miller had organized a community response that turned a crisis into a story of neighbors helping neighbors.

Six vehicles met at Costco, where staff loaded cases of bottled water to be distributed throughout the park. The retail giant donated the supplies without hesitation, understanding the urgency of the situation.

Volunteers then went door to door across Whispering Pines, delivering six gallons of water to each residence. No family was overlooked, ensuring everyone had drinking water and supplies for basic needs while the water disruption continued.
