The shirt from Linsey Smith's England debut spent years hidden under her bed, a reminder of a time when playing cricket felt more like torture than triumph.

Smith even developed new tricks during England's winter break, including a low-arm variation that swings more than some pace bowlers' deliveries. When Bell deadpanned "it was a dot ball, how crazy" after Smith finally used it in a match, both knew they'd found something special.
