$195K in Scholarships Awarded to 102 Auto Repair Students

The future of auto repair just got brighter for 102 students across America who received scholarships totaling over $195,000 from the Collision Repair Education Foundation. These awards are helping young people turn their passion for fixing cars into stable, rewarding careers without drowning in debt.

The foundation partnered with major companies to make education affordable for students from coast to coast. PPG and the PPG Foundation alone contributed over $40,000, supporting 14 students including Julian Ybarra from St. Philip's College in San Antonio and Carson Hassemer from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

State Farm stepped up with $40,000 spread across 16 students, each receiving $2,500 to continue their education. From Colorado to New York, these scholarships are helping students like Aiden Fellows and Collin Fisher stay focused on their studies instead of worrying about tuition bills.

Veterans got special recognition through 3M's Hire Our Heroes program, now in its 14th year. Eight military service members received $1,750 each to transition their skills into civilian careers, including Kevin Alfaro and Demetris Price who are building new futures after serving their country.

Women are making gains in this traditionally male field too. For the third straight year, the Women's Industry Network partnered with CREF to award $29,500 in scholarships plus 20 tool kits to students entering collision repair careers.

LKQ and Driven Brands also joined the effort, contributing $20,000 and $10,000 respectively to help students from Tennessee to California afford their education. These companies understand that investing in students today means having skilled technicians tomorrow.

As cars become more complex with advanced safety features and electric systems, America needs trained technicians who can keep vehicles running safely.
