Dumped Bride Throws Italian Party Anyway With 30 Friends

When Katherine Jones got dumped a week before her Italian wedding, she faced a choice: lose everything she'd planned for 18 months or rewrite the story entirely.

The 36-year-old from Liverpool chose the party. Her fiancé walked away seven days before their three-day destination wedding in Tuscany, leaving her devastated and tossing and turning through a sleepless night.

But by morning, Jones had made her decision. She called her mom and sister with news that surprised everyone: the celebration was still on.

"It carries on, and it has to," Jones told Good Morning Britain. "It's seven days before; everything's paid for. Everyone's booked their flights; like, there's no option."

Her family spread the word quickly. Thirty of Jones' closest friends and relatives flew to Italy, transforming what was supposed to be a wedding into something entirely different.

Her former in-laws-to-be stayed home, which Jones completely understood. She joked that their absence just meant "more room" for everyone else at the Tuscan venue.

The three-day celebration shifted focus entirely. Her mother and sister still gave toasts, but instead of welcoming a new marriage, they honored Jones as a person and celebrated her independence.
