Egypt Delivers 3M Food Boxes to Families This Ramadan

Millions of Egyptian families will receive essential food support this Ramadan thanks to a massive new initiative launched by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The "Abwab al-Kheir" program, which translates to "Doors of Goodness," kicked off this week at Al-Shaab Square in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

The scale of this effort is remarkable. Three million food boxes will travel across all Egyptian governorates during the holy month, with trucks already loaded and departing to communities in need.

But the program goes beyond boxes. Partner organizations will serve four million hot meals throughout Ramadan, ensuring families have both shelf-stable supplies and ready-to-eat food during the fasting period.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity is leading the charge alongside Tahya Misr Fund, coordinating with local governments from Cairo to Giza to Qalyubia. Minister Maya Morsy and several cabinet members joined the prime minister at the launch, inspecting the first convoy of trucks before they departed.

Madbouly praised the coordination between participating agencies, stressing that smooth cooperation ensures help reaches people quickly and efficiently. The initiative represents a partnership between state institutions and civil society organizations working together toward a common goal.
