Egypt Grants Presidential Pardon for Revolution Anniversary

Hundreds of Egyptian prisoners are getting a second chance at freedom as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued a presidential pardon to mark the July 23 Revolution anniversary. The decree offers hope to those who have demonstrated genuine change during their time behind bars.

The pardon applies to prisoners who meet specific criteria set by the government. Those serving life sentences can be released if they've completed 15 years by July 23, 2026, while others need to serve just one-third of their sentence with a minimum of four months.
