Electric Taxi Fleet Launches in Copenhagen with Zero Emissions

Copenhagen just welcomed a taxi service where every single ride produces zero tailpipe emissions.

Green SM, a Vietnamese mobility company, launched its first European fleet this week in Denmark's capital with nothing but electric VinFast SUVs. The company already operates in five Asian countries, but Copenhagen marks its entry into a continent racing to clean up transportation.

Here's what makes Green SM different from apps like Uber: they own all their vehicles and directly employ their drivers. That means no gig workers using their personal cars. Instead, the company maintains its own fleet of VF 6 and VF 8 electric SUVs and puts drivers through training in safety, customer service, and EV operation before they pick up their first passenger.

Customers book rides through Green SM's app, which shows the exact fare upfront. No surge pricing surprises, just a straightforward cost displayed before you confirm.

Richard Nabil Chahine, Green SM's Europe CEO, says Copenhagen earned the honor of being their European debut because the city already leads in sustainable mobility. The company wants to learn from the standards Denmark has set rather than rush expansion across the continent.

To get locals to try the service, Green SM is offering new riders five vouchers for 25% off trips through September 30. Each voucher caps the discount at 100 Danish kroner, about $16.
