Elton John Returns to Mexico for Two Farewell Shows

Elton John is coming out of retirement to give his Mexican fans the goodbye they deserved.

The British music icon announced two farewell concerts at Mexico City's Banorte Stadium on October 2 and 3. The surprise performances will give fans a final opportunity to experience one of pop music's most legendary careers live on stage.

John had to cancel his Latin American tour dates during his massive Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour when COVID-19 shut down live events worldwide. "I was truly disappointed that the pandemic kept me from touring Latin America during my Farewell tour, which makes this return especially meaningful," he wrote on Instagram.

The concerts will take audiences on a journey through five decades of hits. Fans can expect to hear classics like Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, and Your Song, songs that have soundtracked countless lives across generations.

Tickets go on sale starting July 13. Banorte cardholders get first access during a special presale running through July 14. Registered Rocket Club fan members can purchase tickets starting July 15. General public sales open July 16 at noon through Superboletos.
