Family Turns 80th Birthday Into €1,210 Tribute for Lung Charity

When Bridie Teague celebrated her 80th birthday, she turned the milestone into something even more meaningful: a tribute to her late husband Bart that raised €1,210 for people fighting pulmonary fibrosis.

The donation came from family, friends, and neighbors who gathered to honor both Bridie's birthday and Bart's memory. Together with her son Ciarán, Bridie presented the funds to Pulmonary Fibrosis NI, a local charity supporting patients and families affected by the serious lung condition.

"I would like to sincerely thank everyone who celebrated with me and donated so generously in memory of Bart," Bridie said. "Your kindness and support mean so much to our family and to others affected by this illness."

Pulmonary fibrosis causes scarring of the lungs, making breathing progressively more difficult and significantly impacting quality of life. The condition affects countless families across Northern Ireland, making support services critical for those navigating its challenges.
