Fans Get 'Heated Rivalry' Fleece with Charity Donation
Over 6,000 fans signed a petition for a cozy Team Canada fleece from the LGBTQ+ hockey romance show "Heated Rivalry," and now it's becoming real. Even better, 10% of all sales will go to charity.
When fans love something, they make it happen.
Over 6,000 people signed a petition asking for a Team Canada fleece jacket from the hit show "Heated Rivalry" to become real. Now, Canadian company Province of Canada is making it official.
The cozy jacket appears in Episode 2 of the LGBTQ+ hockey romance series on Crave and HBO Max. Character Shane Hollander wears it during scenes set at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, and fans immediately fell in love with the design.
Costume designer Hanna Puley created the fleece with a specific vision in mind. "I really wanted to make Olympic gear that actually felt wearable and cozy," she explained on Instagram.
Puley wanted the jacket to showcase Canadian identity through what she calls "quiet confidence" and approachability. The design struck a chord with viewers who wanted to own a piece of the show.

Province of Canada reached out to Puley and the show's producers to turn fan dreams into reality. "What started as an Instagram post quickly turned into a creative conversation about bringing The Fleece to life," the company shared.
The brand cuts and sews all its apparel in Canada and plans to make international shipping available. They use plastic-free packaging and carbon neutral shipping for all orders.
The Ripple Effect
This fleece launch creates positive change beyond just happy fans. Province of Canada will donate 10% of all proceeds to a charitable organization they'll announce later.
The move mirrors another heartwarming initiative from the Ottawa Senators NHL team. They're selling "Hollander" and "Rozanov" jerseys with all profits going to Ottawa Pride Hockey, an LGBTQ+ hockey league in Ontario.
The show's executive producers Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady praised the partnership. "As a Canadian-based, independent apparel brand that does amazing work sourcing and manufacturing high-quality clothing, we share a common ethos," they said.
Fans can sign up for updates on the fleece release on Province of Canada's website. The company promises to share design updates on social media as they finalize the jacket.
Tierney and Brady summed up what makes this moment special: "Fans are the heart of 'Heated Rivalry,' and this is entirely because of them."
