Fremantle Dockers Storm Back to Win AFL Grand Final Spot

When the third quarter ended at the SCG, the Fremantle Dockers were staring at elimination, trailing Sydney by 27 points with just 20 minutes left in their season.

"Words can't describe how proud I am of everyone for stepping up," captain Alex Pearce told Channel 7 after the match. "We played our best footy in the last quarter when everything was against us."

Hayden Young's clutch set shot after the three-quarter time siren sparked the comeback. From there, the Dockers dominated, with Young (28 disposals), Andrew Brayshaw (29), and Caleb Serong (28) controlling the midfield while Shai Bolton booted two crucial goals.

Isaiah Dudley sealed the victory with less than two minutes remaining, running into an open goal to give Fremantle an unassailable lead. His second major capped off one of the most thrilling preliminary finals in years.

The win sends Fremantle to just their second grand final in club history. They'll face either Hawthorn or Brisbane for the championship, with everything to play for.
