Georgia Hits $35B in Business Growth, Creating 25K Jobs

Georgia just shattered its own economic record for the second year running, proving that momentum can build on itself in beautiful ways.

The state pulled in $35.2 billion in business investments during the fiscal year ending June 30, up from an already record-breaking $26.3 billion the year before. Those investments are creating an estimated 25,300 new private-sector jobs across the state.

Here's what makes this especially meaningful: nearly 80% of the growth came from companies already doing business in Georgia choosing to expand their operations. When businesses put down deeper roots, it signals real confidence in a community's future.

The jobs aren't just clustering in one place either. Three out of four new projects and expansions happened outside metro Atlanta's 10-county area, bringing paychecks and opportunity to rural communities that often get overlooked.

International companies saw Georgia's potential too. Foreign investors from South Korea, Italy, Belgium, Canada, and France put $7.8 billion into the state, accounting for 9,350 of those new jobs. German manufacturing giant Siemens recently announced plans for a 550,000-square-foot plant near Pendergrass that will employ 1,400 people.
