Ghana Tennis Clubs Unite in Three-Day Regional Tournament

Tennis players from four different regions of Ghana just proved that sports can build bridges as strong as any policy initiative.

The Bui Power Tennis Club hosted a three-day inter-club tournament in Accra that brought together the Holy Family Tennis Club, Techiman Tennis Club, and Wa Tennis Club. Players competed in matches while building friendships that stretched across regional boundaries.

The event drew an impressive guest list, including Upper West Regional Minister Ho Charles Lwanga Puozuing. His attendance highlighted how seriously Ghanaian officials are taking sports as a tool for youth development and bringing communities together.

Maxwell Wumbilla Salifu, Chairman of Bui Power Tennis Club, explained the tournament's bigger purpose. The event gave players from smaller regions a chance to compete and gain exposure they might not get otherwise, while strengthening ties between clubs that rarely meet face to face.

The Ghana Tennis Federation President Isaac Aboagye Duah called the tournament a crucial step forward. He emphasized that tennis needs to grow beyond Ghana's urban centers, and events like this show exactly how to make that happen.
