Ghana's Volta Region Wins Cleanest in National Survey

The Volta Region has earned the title of cleanest region in Parliament's ongoing nationwide sanitation monitoring tour. John Oti Bless, Chairman of Parliament's Select Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources, didn't hold back his praise after the assessment.

"We are impressed with the status of sanitation outlook in the Volta Region. It's the cleanest region. There's no doubt about that," Oti Bless told reporters. The Committee has been traveling across Ghana to inspect waste management practices and engage local leaders on tackling the country's sanitation challenges.

The tour aims to give Parliament a complete picture of sanitation conditions while encouraging communities to improve their waste disposal habits. Over the coming weeks, the Committee will visit Central, Western, Bono, Bono East, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions to continue their assessments.

But the Committee isn't just collecting data. They're calling for stronger public education about responsible waste disposal and asking media outlets to help keep sanitation in the national conversation.
