Global Art Contest Offers €2,000 for Climate Solutions

A global art competition is putting real money behind creative climate solutions, offering artists a chance to earn €2,000 while making their voices heard on one of humanity's biggest challenges.

The Art on Climate International Illustration Competition opens May 18, inviting illustrators and animators from anywhere in the world to submit work centered on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and sustainable innovation. Since launching in Spain in 2019, the contest has exploded into a worldwide movement, receiving over 3,500 submissions from more than 2,600 artists across 100 countries in 2025 alone.

This year's theme challenges creators to visualize "Accelerating the Transition through Purposeful Innovation." Artists can submit up to three illustrations and three animated videos exploring topics like inclusive capitalism, climate financing, and community resilience. The competition welcomes anyone 18 or older, whether you're just starting out or already established in your field.

Winners in both the illustration and animation categories will take home €2,000 for first place, €1,500 for second, and €1,000 for third. Twenty additional merit awards of €150 each recognize outstanding entries. Beyond the prize money, selected works will be featured in a virtual international exhibition, giving artists global exposure for their climate advocacy.

Organized by Fingertips Company Limited and sponsored by sustainable investment leader Allianz Global Investors, the competition transforms complex environmental challenges into engaging visual stories that anyone can understand. Submissions close July 31, 2026, with winners announced by September 30.
