GoFundMe Creates Verified Hub for Colombia Earthquake Aid

When disaster strikes, people want to help immediately, but finding trustworthy ways to donate can be overwhelming and risky.

GoFundMe just solved that problem for anyone wanting to support Colombia earthquake relief. The fundraising platform launched a dedicated hub page featuring only verified fundraisers after Monday's 7.4 magnitude earthquake devastated multiple Colombian cities.

The earthquake rocked Cali, Quibdo, Pereira, and neighboring communities, leaving around 1,600 buildings damaged or collapsed. As of Tuesday morning, the death toll stands at 181, with 2,595 people injured and over 3,000 still missing.

The epicenter hit the northwestern department of Chocó, but tremors were felt 150 miles away in the capital city Bogotá. Colombian officials say it's the strongest earthquake the country has recorded in a decade.
