Golfer Jenny Shin Wins After 10-Year Wait and 368 Tries

After more than 10 years and 368 tries, golfer Jenny Shin finally won the tournament she knew she deserved.

The South Korean player captured the Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald on Sunday, finishing nine under par despite a challenging final round. She survived three bogeys on the front nine to hold off fellow countryman A-Lim Kim by two strokes.

The moment her final putt dropped on the 18th hole, Shin broke down in tears. Friends rushed to celebrate with her, dousing her in water and champagne as the emotion of a decade-long journey poured out.

Her first LPGA Tour win came back in 2016 at the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout. But Shin admitted that victory never felt quite right.

"I didn't feel like I deserved it," she said. "It felt very accidental."

This time was different. This time, she knew she'd earned every stroke.
