Grambling State Tops $1M in Student Scholarships

For the first time in its history, Grambling State University awarded more than $1 million in endowment scholarships during the 2025-2026 academic year. The Louisiana HBCU reached this milestone after distributing $743,489.85 in scholarships to students during the Spring 2026 semester alone.

The spring awards went to 497 students across 92 named scholarship funds. That means hundreds of Tigers received financial support that helps them stay in school and complete their degrees without crushing debt.

The numbers tell a powerful story of growth. Of the spring total, endowed scholarships accounted for $645,704.85, while non-endowed scholarships provided another $97,785 in immediate support.

Brandon A. Logan, Vice President for University Advancement and Innovation, sees the achievement as proof of something bigger than dollars. "This milestone reflects more than financial growth," he said. "It represents confidence in our students, confidence in our stewardship, and confidence in Grambling State University's trajectory."

The momentum isn't slowing down. This spring, the university established 11 new named scholarship funds, including five endowed scholarships that generated $63,352 for 31 students and six non-endowed scholarships that provided $5,000 to six additional students.

When students receive scholarship support, the benefits extend far beyond tuition bills. Financial stress drops, allowing students to focus more on learning and less on how to pay for next semester. Graduation rates climb when students don't have to choose between their education and making rent.

For Grambling State, this achievement also strengthens its ability to attract talented students who might otherwise skip college due to cost. Each scholarship recipient becomes living proof that a Grambling education is within reach.
