Hoboken High School Earns National AP Honor Roll Award

Hoboken High School is celebrating a major win after earning a spot on the College Board's 2025 AP School Honor Roll, proving that challenging coursework doesn't have to leave students behind.

The Bronze distinction recognizes schools that successfully expand access to Advanced Placement courses while maintaining strong student performance. At Hoboken High, 41% of seniors took at least one AP exam, and 29% scored a 3 or higher, the benchmark for college-level mastery.

The school offers an impressive 27 AP courses across 34 sections, taught by 19 AP-certified teachers. That gives students everything from AP Biology to AP Art History, all under one roof.

What really stands out is the 18% of seniors who tackled five or more AP exams. That level of commitment shows students aren't just checking boxes but diving deep into college-level work while still in high school.

Principal Robin Piccapietra credited the achievement to a team effort. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, teachers, and staff to academic excellence and equity," she said, emphasizing the school's focus on both challenge and support.

The support part matters. Hoboken High runs an Academic Success Center that helps students with organization, time management, and executive functioning skills, the building blocks that make rigorous coursework manageable.
