One hundred startups just won the equivalent of a golden ticket in the tech world: up to eight years of mentorship from some of the biggest names in global innovation.

The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park spent months carefully selecting young companies to join its flagship hub on the border between the two cities. Now those lucky few will learn directly from established industry leaders already operating in the space.

Vincent Ma, CEO of Loop Hong Kong Park Company, announced the selections on Thursday after a rigorous screening process. Many of the chosen startups emerged from local universities, bringing fresh academic talent into the commercial world.

The mentorship programs will run between five and eight years, an unusually long commitment that signals serious investment in these companies' futures. Mentors include pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca and Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology, a major battery manufacturer pushing the boundaries of energy storage.
