Illinois Hospital Throws Superhero Party for Cancer Survivors

Cancer survivors in Paris, Illinois are getting the superhero celebration they deserve this June.

Horizon Health is hosting its annual "Super Survivor" luncheon on Friday, June 5, honoring cancer survivors and their families in recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day. The free event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the hospital's main campus on 721 East Court Street.

Attendees are encouraged to embrace the superhero theme by wearing capes, masks, or their favorite hero shirts. The hospital wants survivors to feel celebrated for the strength and resilience they've shown throughout their journeys.

Each survivor can bring one guest to share the celebration. The event includes a full lunch, helpful resources, and door prizes for attendees.

One detail makes this event especially welcoming: you don't need to be a current Horizon Health patient to attend. The hospital is opening its doors to any cancer survivor in the community who wants to connect and celebrate.
