Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to the Netherlands resulted in both countries upgrading their relationship to a Strategic Partnership. Modi emphasized the global importance of this knowledge exchange. "The entire international community can learn a great deal from this," he shared after the tour, committing to bringing Dutch technology to India for irrigation, flood protection, and expanding waterway networks.

The Netherlands is currently modernizing the Afsluitdijk under a program called "Afsluitdijk 2.0," upgrading it to withstand once-in-10,000-year storms. This partnership extends beyond dams and water. Both nations agreed to deepen cooperation in semiconductors, defense, innovation, and sustainable mobility, targeting next-generation industries that will define the coming decades.
