India Launches VibeCode30 to Celebrate AI App Builders

Building an app used to require a computer science degree, a team of developers, and months of work. Now, anyone with a good idea and AI tools can turn a weekend brainstorm into a working product that real people use.

India's new VibeCode30 program celebrates this shift. The initiative will recognize 30 individuals and teams who've used AI assistants, no-code platforms, and automation tools to build useful apps without writing every line of code themselves.

Applications opened this month for people across India who've moved beyond experimenting with ChatGPT prompts. The program wants builders who've shipped real products that solve actual problems, whether they're students, marketers, designers, or traditional developers moving faster with AI.

You don't need a tech background or startup funding to apply. A college student who built a study tool over spring break qualifies. So does a healthcare worker who created an app to solve a problem they saw daily at work.

The winner announcement happens October 13-15 at TechSparks 2026 in Bengaluru. Selected builders get stage recognition in front of founders, investors, and potential customers, plus networking opportunities with technology partners.

Judges will evaluate entries on four areas: innovation, impact, execution, and how effectively AI tools were used in development. The strongest applications show a clear problem, a functioning solution, and evidence that real users find it valuable.

The Ripple Effect

This matters beyond the 30 people who'll be selected. VibeCode30 signals a fundamental change in who gets to build technology. When AI handles the repetitive coding work, the barrier drops from technical skill to creative problem solving.

TechSparks' flagship Tech30 program has spotted over 450 early-stage startups in 15 years, including successes like Freshworks and Chargebee before they became household names. VibeCode30 extends that early discovery approach to a new generation building with AI as their co-pilot.

The application deadline is August 31. For someone who's been quietly building something useful after work or between classes, this could be the first public validation that their side project has legs.
