India Wins 5 Boxing Golds at 2026 Commonwealth Games

Saturday at the Scottish Event Campus turned into a celebration of Indian boxing excellence as five athletes climbed to the top of the podium at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Preeti Pawar started the golden streak in the women's 54kg final, staying calm under pressure from Canada's Scarlett Delgado. Her patient defense and precise striking earned a unanimous 5-0 decision.

Reigning World champion Jaismine Lamboria followed with a masterclass in the women's 57kg final against Northern Ireland's Michaela Walsh. The Indian boxer controlled the distance perfectly, using her height and reach advantage to land clean combinations while slipping away from Walsh's attempts to close the gap.

Sakshi Chaudhary made it three golds with her 5-0 victory over England's Ruby White in the women's 51kg final. White charged forward aggressively in all three rounds, but Sakshi remained composed and scored points consistently.

Priya Ghanghas sparked loud celebrations in the Indian corner when she edged Canada's Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh 4-1 in the women's 60kg final. Head coach Santiago Nivea embraced his support staff as India secured its fourth gold, already surpassing the three boxing golds from Birmingham 2022.

Arundhati Choudhary capped the historic day with a commanding 5-0 win over England's Chantelle Reid in the women's 70kg final. While Reid pushed forward constantly, Arundhati dictated the pace with sharp counters and powerful straight punches.

This performance represents years of investment in Indian boxing programs paying off in spectacular fashion. Having 10 boxers reach the finals across 14 weight categories shows the depth of talent now emerging from training centers across the country.
