Indian Ag Schools Crack Global Top 100 Rankings for First Time

India's agricultural universities just proved they can compete with the world's best, securing their first spots in the prestigious QS World University Rankings.

The Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly claimed a spot in the top 100 for veterinary science, making it the only Indian university to crack this elite tier. Meanwhile, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi debuted in the 151-200 range for agriculture and forestry.

The achievement comes after years of focused effort by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to build world-class programs. The rankings evaluated over 21,000 academic programs from more than 1,900 universities worldwide, measuring everything from research quality to employer reputation.

What makes this especially meaningful is the timing. India's Prime Minister recently emphasized the urgent need to develop skilled talent at a December 2025 conference, and these institutions answered the call.
