Indiana's 6th Annual EV Showcase Helps Families Save Money

Curious about electric vehicles but not sure where to start? Indianapolis is making it easy to learn about EVs without the pressure of a dealership visit.

The Central Indiana Electric Vehicle Showcase returns Saturday for its sixth year, bringing together EV owners and curious residents for free test drives and honest conversations. The event is organized by the Indiana Office of Sustainability and the City-County Council.

"Electric vehicles have a low cost of operation and help families save money on transportation-related expenses," said District 14 City-County Councilor Andy Nielsen. The event gives residents a chance to connect with local dealers if they decide to make the switch.

The timing matters more than ever. Transportation accounts for nearly a third of Indianapolis' greenhouse gas emissions, making it one of the biggest opportunities for reducing pollution in the city.
