When baby Arthur arrived on September 14 last year, he didn't just join his family. He completed a century-spanning birthday tradition that earned the Harlows a world record nobody saw coming.

The Harlow family of Iowa now holds the Guinness World Record for most generations born on the same date. All five family members share September 14 as their birthday, starting with great-great-grandfather Wilber in 1907 and ending with baby Arthur in 2025.

The lineage reads like an impossible coincidence. Wilber's daughter Addie came first, then grandson Fred Harlow, great-granddaughter Emma Bell, and finally Arthur. They even alternate between boys and girls in perfect order.

Emma Bell grew up hearing the family legend from her grandmother. "You have to have a boy on Sept. 14, every year, is what she would say," Emma told KMTV. After her first child arrived early, she committed to making it happen with her second.

Arthur arrived right on schedule, pushing the family past the previous four-generation record. The timing required a mix of luck, genetics, and one very determined mother who refused to let the streak die on her watch.
