Iowa State Athletics Raises Record $52.7M in Donations

More than 7,800 Iowa State fans just proved that investing in student athletes matters to entire communities.

The university's athletic department announced it raised a stunning $52.7 million in fiscal year 2026, shattering its previous record of $41.7 million set in 2020. The money came from 26,707 individual donations across 7,814 passionate fans.

Forty-eight donors gave $100,000 or more to support the Cyclones. That's not just pocket change—it's people putting real money behind their belief in young athletes.

Athletic Director Jamie Pollard, who's wrapping up his final year before retirement in June 2027, says the funds will directly improve the academic and athletic experience for students wearing cardinal and gold. The investment helps provide better training facilities, academic support, and resources that let athletes thrive both on the field and in the classroom.

The Cyclone Club, Iowa State's annual giving program, brought in a record $21.1 million on its own. That beat last year's mark of $19.7 million and shows sustained growth in community support.

Ryan McGuire, senior associate athletics director, calls Iowa State donors "second to none." He credits the record year to a total team effort between Pollard, head coaches engaging with supporters, and the fundraising staff at Athletics and the ISU Foundation.
