The 27-year-old Monaghan fighter dominated Italy's Etinosa Oliha across 12 rounds at Dublin's 3Arena on Saturday, claiming the IBF world middleweight title with a unanimous decision victory. Judges scored it 118-110, 117-111, and 116-112 in McKenna's favor.

"Since I was six years old, I thought about this moment my whole life," McKenna told Sky Sports after the win. "So for it to finally happen at 27, it goes to show everyone, don't give up, always stay true to yourself, and you can do anything."

The fight started cautiously, with Oliha applying early pressure and finding success in the second round. But McKenna, nicknamed "The Silencer," gradually found his rhythm with sharp jabs and uppercuts that kept the Italian at bay.

McKenna took control in the middle rounds, forcing Oliha onto the ropes and landing clean combinations to the head and body. His movement and defense frustrated Oliha's forward pressure throughout the contest.
