Jordan Creates Record 87,617 Jobs in Historic 2025

Jordan just had the best year for job creation in its entire history, giving nearly 88,000 people new opportunities to build better futures.

The Department of Statistics announced that Jordan created 87,617 new jobs for Jordanian citizens in 2025, marking an unprecedented milestone for the Middle Eastern nation. Jordanians filled 91% of these positions, showing the growth directly benefited local workers.

The second half of 2025 alone brought 46,719 net new jobs to the market. The private sector powered most of this growth, accounting for 73% of all new positions created during that period.

Young workers between ages 20 and 29 captured the largest share of opportunities, landing nearly 37,000 jobs. That's nearly 79% of all new positions, giving Jordan's next generation a strong foothold in the workforce.

Women made particularly impressive gains among highly educated workers. Female university graduates claimed half of all new jobs for degree holders, reflecting meaningful progress in workplace equality.

The education sector led job creation, providing nearly a quarter of all new positions. Public administration followed as the second largest source of employment growth at 13%.
