Kansas 13U Girls Soccer Team Wins National Championship

A group of 13-year-old girls from small Kansas towns just proved they can compete with anyone in the country.

The Sporting Kaw Valley 13U Girls Elite team captured the Presidents Cup National Championship in Wichita, capping an undefeated run through state, regional, and national competition. But the championship trophy wasn't all they brought home.

The team swept every major individual award at nationals. One player earned the Golden Glove for best goalkeeper, another took home the Golden Boot for top scorer, and a teammate claimed MVP honors for the entire tournament.

Their road to the national title started in their own backyard. The girls first won the Kansas State Championship in Kansas City, outplaying teams from across the state.

Next came the Regional Championship in Des Moines, where they faced the best teams from surrounding states. Again, they proved unstoppable.
