"I've missed a lot of things I wish I hadn't in the last 15 months because of this injury but today is, by far, the one I wish I had been there for the most," Owens wrote on social media shortly after the match. Despite not being ringside, his pride came through in every word.

Owens didn't hold back in praising his friend's abilities. "He has brought out the best in me as both an ally and a foe. That's because he is THE best," he wrote. "When you're consistently that good for that long, you become undeniable."

The tribute continued with Owens calling Zayn's championship win "inevitable" after years of excellence. "He has deserved that moment for a very long time and I am so happy to see him finally get it," he added.

The post included photos documenting their friendship across the years. The final image showed Zayn helping Owens put on his sock in a Texas hotel room after Owens injured his back during a match. "He had to help me put on my boxers too," Owens shared, adding a touch of humor to the heartfelt moment.
