Knights of Columbus Donate $2,700 to Tennessee Neighbors

When Franklin County neighbors gathered for a spaghetti dinner this spring, they helped create something much bigger than a community meal.

The local Knights of Columbus chapter transformed their dinner fundraiser and 40 Cans for Lent campaign into $2,700 for families facing tough times. Grand Knight David Ryan presented $1,600 of that total to Good Samaritan Ministries in Decherd, with the Tennessee State Knights of Columbus adding $500 in matching funds.

Good Samaritan Ministries serves as a lifeline for Franklin County residents hit by unexpected crises. Located on Decherd Boulevard, the organization provides emergency food, clothing, baby supplies, and utility assistance to neighbors who need help getting back on their feet.

The ministry operates with support from three dozen area churches, civic groups, charitable foundations, and individual donors. This network of community care means families facing job loss, medical emergencies, or other hardships have somewhere to turn.

The Ripple Effect

Every dollar from the Knights' donation multiplies across the community. Emergency utility assistance keeps families from choosing between heat and food during winter months. Baby supplies give new parents breathing room during financial stress. Clothing donations help kids show up to school with confidence.
