Knights of Columbus Gives $100K to Youngstown Students

The Knights of Columbus Youngstown Council has established a $100,000 scholarship fund for students at Youngstown State University, creating opportunities for local youth to pursue higher education without the burden of crushing debt.

The scholarship will support four students annually, one from each class rank: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. Each recipient must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and be a member of a Catholic parish in Mahoning County or a religious order.

Students with current or deceased family members in the Knights of Columbus receive preference. The scholarship committee and YSU Foundation will jointly select recipients each academic year.

"Our Knights of Columbus Council is very much about our community, especially our younger people and their future," said Dustin Tolson, the Grand Knight of Youngstown. His words reflect the organization's commitment to investing in the next generation.
