LA28 Opens Volunteer Applications for 2028 Olympics

Thousands of people will soon have the chance to be part of Olympic history without ever stepping on a podium.

The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games opened volunteer applications on July 14, 2026, welcoming people of all abilities to join what organizers are calling the LA28 Volunteer Crew. These volunteers will greet guests, guide fans through venues, and support athletes during one of the world's biggest sporting events.

The opportunity comes with flexibility built in. Volunteers need to commit to just 10 non-consecutive shifts of about eight hours each during either the Olympic period (March through August 2028) or the Paralympic period (August through September 2028). That means you can work around your schedule while still being part of something extraordinary.

The program offers eight different role categories to match different skills and interests. Sport-specific volunteers will work directly with individual sports like field hockey, while other specialized roles include doping control, driving, emergency response, language services, medical support, and security.

Getting started is straightforward. Anyone 18 or older who can read and write English proficiently can apply. The application takes about 30 minutes to complete, and you can save your progress and return later if needed.
