Lafayette Partners Bring STEM Fun to Community Impact Day

When families gather for Community Impact Day on August 29th in downtown Lafayette, Indiana, kids won't just be waiting on the sidelines anymore.

The Good Samaritan Project has partnered with Imagination Station to transform their annual community event into a family-friendly experience. While parents connect with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and local businesses, children will dive into interactive science and technology activities at the popular learning center.

The three-hour event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. across both the Good Samaritan Project campus and Imagination Station. This marks the third year for the Back to School Celebration, which helps families prepare for the upcoming school year with supplies and resources.

Healthcare screenings and wellness information will be available through the Health Fair component. The Gospel Fest adds music and community celebration to the mix, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a neighborhood party than a service event.

By adding Imagination Station as a venue partner, organizers solved a common challenge: keeping kids engaged while their parents handle important but time-consuming tasks. Parents can focus on health screenings or meeting with service providers without worrying about restless children.
