✨ Faith Restored

After waiting six years for university admission, Mojirade Bepo turned disappointment into purpose by building a successful confectionery business. Her company now transforms lives while producing quality snacks across Lagos.

When Mojirade Bepo couldn't get into her dream accounting program because of one missing math credit, she spent six years at home before finally pursuing hospitality studies. That waiting period became the foundation for something far bigger than she imagined.

Bepo grew up in Abeokuta and eventually studied hotel management at Federal Polytechnic Ilaro and Yaba College of Technology. During school, she started making flavored chin-chin with ginger, coconut, groundnut, and pepper, selling them to lecturers and friends during holidays.

After completing her National Youth Service Corps program in 2011, she turned down a kitchen job at the hotel where she'd interned. The front office position she wanted wasn't available, so she chose to focus on her side business full time.

"All I wanted was to get a means to make a living and stay safe in survival mode," Bepo recalls. A sermon about using what you already have in your hands convinced her to take the business seriously.

What started as selling homemade snacks transformed into Jirade Global Diadem Limited, officially incorporated in 2022. Today, the company produces plantain chips and various confections sold across Lagos.

Why This Inspires

Bepo runs her business with a higher purpose beyond profit. Every employee who joins her company receives training in core values like excellence, integrity, and punctuality, no matter how long they stay.

"Anyone who works in our company must be transformed," she explains. The self-described "church girl" learned to balance kindness with firm business practices, especially when dealing with food safety standards.

Her journey taught her crucial lessons about focus and intentionality. She learned to separate personal relationships from business decisions and to delegate tasks even when perfection feels out of reach.

The years spent waiting for admission weren't wasted time. They became preparation for an entrepreneur who now creates jobs, transforms workers, and proves that detours often lead to destinations better than we planned.
