Lahaina Scholarships Offer $10K to Fire-Affected Students

After Lahaina's historic wildfires reshaped an entire community, a local foundation is making sure students can still reach for their dreams.

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation announced it will award $10,000 in scholarships to Lahainaluna High School seniors and alumni for the 2026-2027 school year. Individual awards range from $500 to $2,000 for students pursuing higher education.

High school seniors graduating this spring can apply if they've been accepted into an accredited two or four-year college or university. They'll need to write an essay as part of their application.

Alumni who are already enrolled full-time in college or university programs are also eligible to apply. The foundation wants to support students at every stage of their educational journey.

Students can find applications on the Lahaina Restoration Foundation website at lahainarestoration.org. Seniors can also pick up physical copies from Ginny Yasutake, the College and Career Counselor at Lahainaluna High School.
