LA's Clean Power Alliance Serves 3M+ With Green Energy

Clean Power Alliance is proving that clean energy can work at massive scale, and the results from 2025 are nothing short of remarkable.

The Los Angeles and Ventura counties provider now serves more than 3 million residents and businesses, with 67% choosing their 100% Green Power option. That customer commitment helped avoid 3.6 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions last year alone, equal to taking 382,000 gas-powered cars off the road for an entire year.

The nonprofit expanded service to three new cities in 2025: La Cañada Flintridge, Lynwood, and Port Hueneme. These additions brought 33,000 new customers into the fold and will cut emissions by another 128 million pounds annually.

Behind the customer growth sits serious infrastructure investment. Clean Power Alliance signed contracts for 157 megawatts of new renewable energy, cementing its position as one of California's largest clean power purchasers.

The organization pumped $14 million into customer programs that help people save energy and money, a 30% jump from the previous year. Two new programs specifically target low-income residents, making clean energy accessible to communities that need cost savings most.

When wildfires devastated parts of the region in January 2025, Clean Power Alliance responded immediately. The organization directed funding to recovery efforts, trained contractors on resilient rebuilding solutions, and guided customers on fire protection strategies.

The Ripple Effect

The economic impact reaches far beyond lower electricity bills. Clean Power Alliance contracted projects created an estimated 600 jobs in the local clean energy workforce. The organization invested $348,000 in workforce training last year, supporting 200 apprentices and bringing its four-year total to more than $2 million in local workforce programs.

Community grants totaling $375,000 went to 18 nonprofit organizations advancing environmental stewardship throughout the region. These partnerships prepare the next generation for clean energy careers while strengthening local sustainability initiatives.

The financial results earned recognition too. S&P Global Ratings upgraded Clean Power Alliance from "A-" to "A" with a stable outlook, citing strong financial resilience and disciplined governance.

Smart bond financing decisions delivered $35 million in estimated energy cost savings, money the organization reinvested into deeper customer programs and community benefits.
