Marquette University Honors Resilient Graduates May 8

Marquette University is throwing a party for graduates who've shown extraordinary strength on their journey to a college degree.

The Office of Inclusion and Belonging will host the Unity Celebration of Graduates on May 8 at 4 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre. The event specifically honors first-generation college students, students of color, and others who brought additional resilience to their educational path.

Every undergraduate, graduate, and professional student is invited to attend, whether they fit these categories or not. The university wants the entire community to join in celebrating these achievements.

Following the ceremony, the university president will host a special reception outside the Alumni Memorial Union. Graduates who register by April 17 will receive a commemorative medal instead of the traditional stoles previously distributed.
