Melbourne Invites 41st Coastal Cleanup Volunteers Sept. 19

When volunteers gather at Melbourne's Ballard Park on September 19, they'll be joining millions worldwide in the planet's largest single-day effort to protect our oceans and waterways.

The 41st Annual International Coastal Cleanup brings together the City of Melbourne's ECO Division, Keep Brevard Beautiful, and Ocean Conservancy for three hours that truly matter. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., community members will remove litter from shorelines while documenting the types of debris collected, helping scientists understand pollution patterns.

What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into a global movement protecting oceans, rivers, and lagoons across the world. Melbourne's event offers something for everyone: shoreline cleanup for beach lovers, park restoration for nature enthusiasts, and even water-based cleanup for kayakers and small boat owners willing to tackle the lagoon.
