Mexico Commits to Buy Only Mexican Steel for Projects

Mexico's government just made a bold promise to its steel workers: every bridge, railway, and public building the nation constructs will be built with Mexican steel.

President Claudia Sheinbaum signed the historic agreement on Wednesday, marking a major win for domestic industry and national economic security. The pact commits federal agencies to purchase only Mexican-made steel for all public infrastructure projects, from highways to defense installations.
