Mexico Exports Hit Record $665B, Led by Chihuahua State

😊 Feel Good

Mexico's exports soared to $665 billion in 2025, marking a 7.6% jump from the previous year. Northern border states drove the surge, with Chihuahua alone shipping $109.5 billion in goods worldwide.

Mexico just had its best year ever for selling goods to the world, and one state is leading the charge.

The country exported $664.83 billion worth of products in 2025, up 7.6% from 2024. That means more jobs, more investment, and more economic momentum for communities across Mexico.

Chihuahua, Mexico's largest state by area, claimed the top spot by shipping $109.5 billion in goods abroad. The northern border state combines massive manufacturing operations with thriving agricultural production, making it an export powerhouse.

Coahuila came in second with $65.5 billion in exports, followed by Nuevo León at $59.06 billion. Baja California ranked fourth at $56.62 billion, while Jalisco rounded out the top five with $52.57 billion.

What makes Jalisco's performance particularly impressive is that it's the only state in the top five that doesn't share a border with the United States. The state proved you don't need geographic advantages when you have strong industries and infrastructure.

The Ripple Effect

The export boom isn't just about big numbers. It represents real progress for Mexican workers and communities who build, grow, and produce the goods the world wants.

Jalisco showed the biggest growth, jumping 66.2% in one year to reach $52.57 billion. Chihuahua followed with a 45.1% increase, while smaller states like Colima (27.8%), Zacatecas (22.6%), and Yucatán (21%) also posted strong gains.

Sixteen of Mexico's 32 states increased their export earnings in 2025. That geographic spread means the benefits of international trade are reaching different regions, not just concentrating in a few areas.

The growth spans multiple industries too. Factories produced everything from cars to electronics, farms grew fresh produce for international markets, and energy companies pumped oil from the Gulf of Mexico and onshore fields.

Tourism-focused states like Quintana Roo ranked lower in exports at just $19.51 million, but that makes sense given their economies center on services rather than manufactured goods or agricultural products.

The 2025 results show that Mexico's manufacturing sector remains competitive on the global stage, attracting investment and creating opportunities for workers who make the products the world relies on.
