MGM Volunteers Pack Hundreds of Backpacks for Springfield Kids

Hundreds of Springfield students are getting a confidence boost this back-to-school season, thanks to volunteers who spent their Monday making sure no child starts the year empty-handed.

More than a dozen employees from MGM Springfield gathered at the United Way of Pioneer Valley's downtown location to tackle a meaningful task. They sorted through boxes of donated school supplies collected from across western Massachusetts, transforming a warehouse of items into neatly packed backpacks ready for students in need.

The volunteers didn't just show up with their time. MGM Springfield also contributed $1,000 to support United Way's back-to-school initiative, helping bridge the gap for families facing financial challenges as the new academic year approaches.
