Monroe Fashion Show Raises Funds for Abused Kids' Advocates

When children face the trauma of abuse or neglect, they often need someone to stand up for them in court. Monroe County is making sure those young voices get heard through a stylish fundraiser that transforms an evening of fashion into hope for vulnerable kids.

Court Appointed Special Advocate of Monroe County will host "A Love Like Light" on February 5 at the Michigan Wine & Beer Portal in downtown Monroe. The event combines dinner, a fashion show featuring Sofi Stella Boutique, and a silent auction to fund volunteer training programs.

CASA volunteers serve as court-appointed advocates for children in the foster care system. They spend time getting to know each child, investigating their situation, and making recommendations to judges about what's truly in the child's best interest. These trained community members often become the one consistent adult in a child's life during a chaotic time.

The fashion show offers Monroe residents a chance to enjoy an elegant evening while directly supporting their community's most vulnerable children. Tickets are $75 per person or $575 for a table of eight, with all proceeds going toward training new volunteers.
