Montclair Art Museum Creates Scholarship for Young Artists

Creative teens in Montclair, New Jersey just got a beautiful new path to college thanks to their local art museum.

The Montclair Art Museum announced a new annual scholarship for Montclair High School seniors pursuing degrees in fine or visual arts. The award will be given each spring starting in 2027 through the Montclair Scholarship Fund.

The museum is funding the scholarship in a creative way. From September 25 to September 27, every dollar from gallery admission tickets will go directly toward the scholarship fund.

"This scholarship celebrates the artistic talent found at Montclair High School and supports the next generation of artists emerging from Montclair," said Executive Director Todd Caissie. The museum wants to recognize students who show serious commitment to their craft.

The timing couldn't be better for young artists facing the rising costs of art school. Fine arts programs often require expensive supplies and materials on top of regular tuition, making financial support crucial for talented students.
