Naples Medical Firm Gives $35K to Lighthouse of Collier

A Naples medical device company is helping hundreds of people with vision loss build the skills they need to live independently.

Arthrex, a global medical device manufacturer headquartered in Naples, donated $35,000 to Lighthouse of Collier to fund its Empowering the Lives of the Blind and Visually Impaired Program for the 2025-2026 grant year. The nonprofit is the only rehabilitation center for blindness and vision loss in Collier County.

The funding will support programs that teach daily living skills, low-vision training, and assistive technology. Clients also receive transportation services, vocational rehabilitation, and family support groups that help them gain employment and navigate everyday life.

"LOC relies heavily on grants to make our mission possible," said Victoria Scott, the nonprofit's public relations manager. "Having supportive community partners such as Arthrex ensures we are not alone in wanting to promote independence and confidence for people living with visual impairments."

Founded in 2009, Lighthouse of Collier serves more than 250 clients every year. The organization works with people of all ages, from babies to seniors, regardless of their ability to pay or where they live in the county.
